June 09, 2011 Portland Welcomes the Energy Tide 2 and Beta TidGen™ Power System
On Monday, June 13 at 11 a.m., Portland Mayor Nicholas Mavodones will officially welcome the Energy Tide 2, Ocean Renewable Power Company’s world-class tidal research vessel, to the city of Portland at the Maine State Pier. Onboard the Energy Tide 2 will be the company’s Beta TidGen™ Power System, the largest ocean energy device ever deployed in the United States. Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, the state of Maine, the city of Eastport, McAllister Towing, and Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) will join the mayor in welcoming the Energy Tide 2.
