About the position

 

ORPC is seeking a Field Service Lead based in Quebec to assist with the installation of our cutting-edge marine renewable energy systems. The Field Service Lead will be involved in the management of multiple projects and will collaborate with teams across the US, Canada, Ireland and Chile.

You will be the bridge between our engineering designs and real-world implementation, managing site characterization, installations, and long-term operations across multiple high-impact projects in the US and Canada.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage project-based field operations, from site surveys to the final installation of ORPC power systems.
  • Develop and champion on-site safety plans and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring every team member returns home safely.
  • Partner with our development and engineering teams in the U.S. and beyond to deploy our power systems.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical and marine systems in remote locations where creativity and resourcefulness are your best tools.
  • Manage contractors and collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure quality, environmental, and community standards are exceeded.

 

Qualifications

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent life experience) and have 5+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems, electrical wiring, and marine operations.
  • You have a proven track record of coordinating fieldwork and leading subcontractors to high standards of workmanship.
  • You are professionally fluent in French and English.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time, often to remote domestic and international locations.
  • You hold (or are ready to obtain) an ASP Construction Certification and are comfortable in swift-water environments.
  • You can interpret complex engineering drawings and analyze datasets to assess site feasibility.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Passport.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in all weather conditions.
